ZAZIZ

ZAZIZ
is a member of the independent electronic music collective Clan Analogue, and he makes what may be called electronic/afro-mindfunk art-sounds. He's influenced primarily by electric-period Miles Davis, modern forms like drum'n'bass, hip-hop, electro, and breakbeats, as well as Middle Eastern & African musics.

ZAZIZ has released two albums: Things To Make & Do ('02) & The Big M ('03), as well as an album with Shed, Live at Ruckers (’03), all on his own Ruthless Records.

He has supplied theme music for the Channel 31 show ‘Red Lobster’, has performed at the Make It Up Club, and collaborated with the poet Ian McBryde on a performance of his ‘Slivers’ piece for the 2004 Overload Poetry Festival.

His next project is a series of further collaborations with various Melbourne performance poets and spoken word artists.

For the Saloni M swims East event in 2003, ZAZIZ contributed a few DJ sets, including his own piece "Memories of Attar".
