Sotiris Dounoukos
b. Sydney, Australia.

BIOGRAPHY:   Sotiris Dounoukos is a graduate of the Film and Television School of the Victorian College of the Arts, Melbourne, Australia. He has worked as a filmmaker locally and overseas and is a recipient of the New South Wales Film and Television Office's Young Filmmaker's Fund. The short films he has directed and produced have screened nationally and internationally, including at the Melbourne International Film Festival, Edinburgh Film Festival and New Films / New Directors at the Lincoln Centre, New York. He has also directed music videos for Australian and international bands.

He made his feature, Joe Cinque's Consolation, in 2016.

CRITICAL OVERVIEW:   Sotiris's short films have focused on themes of alienation within a day to day context. His interest in "human drama" combines a formal design that attempts to reflect the shifting nature of the various characters' places in the world and their relation to each other.
